2026 Violon Competition

Pre-selection (Video only)

Candidates must send the following to the official website of the Fondation prior to August 1, 2026:

  • a CV
  • a color photo
  • a link to a video hosted on YouTube, Dailymotion or Viméo
  • registration fees: USD 80 or 80€ by bank transfer or cheque

Applicants must have been born between 1993 and 2010 (16 – 33 years old)

Pre-selection by video only before November 1, 2026:

  1. Candidate’s choice A Caprice by Paganini

  2. Saint-Saëns / Ysaÿe Caprice after the Étude en forme de Valse, Op. 52

  3. J. S. Bach     Andante and Allegro (No. 5) from the Second Sonata in A minor

18 candidates from the pre-selection will qualify to take part in the eliminatory round.


Eliminatory round

Tuesday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 11, 2026

    1. Candidate’s choice A Caprice by Paganini

    2. Saint-Saëns / Ysaÿe Caprice after the Étude en forme de Valse, Op. 52

    3. J. S. Bach     Andante and Allegro (No. 5) from the Second Sonata in A minor

    4. A piece of your choice (maximum 10 minutes)

Among these 18 candidates, 9 will qualify for the semi-finals


Semi-finals

Thursday, November 12, 2026

Each semi-finalist must perform one freely chosen recital piece,

plus one of the following four works:

  • ChaussonPoème

  • SchubertRondo brillant in B minor, D.895

  • Schumann/KreislerFantasy in C major for violin and piano

  • PoulencSonata for violin and piano

The total performance time must not exceed 40 minutes.

Among the 9 semi-finalists, 4 will qualify for the Finals with Orchestra

Finals with the Orchestra of the Republican Guard

Saturday, November 14, 2026

Each finalist will choose to play one concerto out of 7 concertos options accompanied by The Orchestra of the Republican Guard :
